What this sheet is for

Get through the day without missing the shots that cannot be taken again. The family groups run quickly because the names are already written down.

Who it is for

Wedding photographers and second shooters, and couples putting together a list for the photographer they have booked.

How to use it

  1. Go through the list with the couple before the day and add the shots they ask for.
  2. Name every person in each family group, not just the group — 'bride's aunts' is not a list.
  3. Write in who will call each group, so it is not you shouting names.
  4. Take the printed copy on the day and tick as you go.

What is on the sheet

2 pages, in this order:

Agree it before the day. Agree this with the couple before the day and take the printed copy with you. Add the shots they ask for in the blank lines — the list below is a starting point, not a running order.

Questions

Why is the family groups table on its own page?

Because it is the page someone else holds. On the day it is usually handed to a relative or the best man to read out, while the photographer works — that only works if it is a separate sheet with room to write full names.

Why no timings on the list?

Because the day's timings come from the venue, the ceremony and the couple, not from us. The list is grouped by part of the day so it follows whatever running order you are given, and there is a column for when a group happens.
