Driver Feedback and Debrief Sheet
Capture what the driver felt while it is still fresh, in words the engineer can act on, and tie each setup change to the feedback that caused it.
Motorsport and track days · MT-01
A free printable race car setup sheet — corner-by-corner springs, dampers, geometry and ride height, tyre pressures cold and hot, and the next change.
One page. Choose your paper size — both versions are laid out identically, so neither one gets shrunk to fit.
Print it and write on it
Fill it in type and save
The fillable versions have real form fields — open them in any PDF reader, type into them and save. Printing help.
Know exactly what the car went out on, so a faster or slower session can be traced to a change rather than a feeling.
Club racers, track-day drivers and small teams running one car with a notebook rather than a data engineer.
One page, top to bottom:
Printed under the title: One car, one session: the corner-by-corner settings the car went out on, the tyre pressures cold and hot, and what was changed before the next run.
Your car's numbers, not ours. Every figure on this sheet is yours. No baseline pressures, geometry or ride heights are printed — they come from your car, your tyre supplier and what the stopwatch tells you. Write the setting you actually ran, not the one you meant to.
Write-on lines: Car / number · Circuit · Session · Date · Driver · Conditions / track temp · Tyre compound / set
Table, 7 rows: Setting · Front left · Front right · Rear left · Rear right
Write-on lines: Cold pressures FL / FR / RL / RR · Hot pressures FL / FR / RL / RR · Tyre temps if taken · Anti-roll bar F / R · Brake bias · Wing / aero F / R · Gearing / final drive · Fuel in at start · Best lap · Laps run · Change for next session
Ruled lines: Driver comment — what the car did, where, and what was changed
Because a baseline belongs to a particular car, tyre and circuit, and a printed one would be wrong for almost everyone. Start from your car builder's or tyre supplier's guidance and your own last good sheet, and let the stopwatch move it from there.
The car sheet is built around four corners with independent springs, dampers, camber and toe, plus bars, bias and aero. A kart is set up by track widths, axle, hubs and gearing, so it has its own sheet with those fields.
Capture what the driver felt while it is still fresh, in words the engineer can act on, and tie each setup change to the feedback that caused it.
Tie every kart setup change to the lap time it produced, so a day at the track ends with a known best setup rather than a feeling about one.
Replace a guessed fuel load with a measured one, so the car neither runs dry on the last lap nor carries weight it does not need.
See wear as a trend, so you can plan replacement instead of being told at a test that it is already too late.
Every sheet, binder, game and puzzle on Upkeep Papers is free to download, with no email and no account. Making them is not free: each one takes days of research, design and checking, and the site costs money to run. If something here saved you time, you can buy us a coffee. It is entirely optional: nothing is locked, and nothing changes if you don’t.
