Car Setup Sheet
Know exactly what the car went out on, so a faster or slower session can be traced to a change rather than a feeling.
Motorsport and track days · MT-10
A free printable karting setup sheet — track widths, axle, hubs, geometry, gearing, carb and tyre pressures as run, with a session log of each change.
One page. Choose your paper size — both versions are laid out identically, so neither one gets shrunk to fit.
Print it and write on it
Fill it in type and save
The fillable versions have real form fields — open them in any PDF reader, type into them and save. Printing help.
Tie every kart setup change to the lap time it produced, so a day at the track ends with a known best setup rather than a feeling about one.
Kart drivers, parents and mechanics at club and championship level, from cadet classes upwards.
One page, top to bottom:
Printed under the title: A kart's setup and the sessions it ran on that setup, on one page — chassis, axle, gearing, carb and tyres as they were, and the lap times each change produced.
One change per run. Karts are set up by what the driver and the stopwatch say, not by a printed baseline — so none is printed. Change one thing at a time and record the lap times against it, or you will never know which change did what.
Write-on lines: Driver · Kart / class · Circuit · Date · Engine no. · Conditions / track temp · Tyre set / age · Weight (driver + kart)
Write-on lines: Front width · Rear width · Axle type / stiffness · Hubs F / R · Caster / camber · Toe · Ride height F / R · Seat position / stays · Torsion bars · Brake setting · Sprocket / gearing · Carb / jet settings · Chain / lubrication · Tyre pressures cold FL/FR/RL/RR
Table, 5 rows: Session · Change made · Best lap · Average · Hot pressures · Driver comment
Write-on lines: Best setup of the day · Try next time
Because a kart's setup depends on its chassis, class, tyres, the driver's weight and the circuit, and a printed baseline would be wrong for most karts. Start from your chassis manufacturer's or tyre supplier's guidance and your last good sheet.
Because two changes at once cannot be told apart by a lap time. If the kart is faster you do not know which change did it; if it is slower you do not know which to undo.
Know exactly what the car went out on, so a faster or slower session can be traced to a change rather than a feeling.
Capture what the driver felt while it is still fresh, in words the engineer can act on, and tie each setup change to the feedback that caused it.
Know how much life is left in a competition engine before it lets go, and hold a rebuild history that follows the engine rather than the car.
Stop a season being derailed by a lapsed licence or a missed entry deadline, by keeping the paperwork and the calendar on one page.

Making them is not free: each one takes days of research, design and checking, and the site costs money to run. If something here saved you time, you can buy us a coffee. It is entirely optional: nothing is locked, and nothing changes if you don’t.
