What this sheet is for

Keep the visitor record that matters when disease is traced, and make the boot dip a thing that is recorded rather than assumed.

Who it is for

Any holding with livestock, and anyone in an assurance scheme.

How to use it

  1. Record the last holding a visitor was on, and when. That is the risk.
  2. Have visitors sign. A signature changes behaviour.
  3. Write your disinfectant and its dilution at the bottom so it is not guessed at.
  4. Keep completed sheets for as long as your scheme or authority requires.

What is on the sheet

The layout is fixed at a size that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the A4 and Letter files are visually identical and print at full size on either. Rows are set at a height that an adult can actually write a date and a few words into with a pen — most printable tables are built in a word processor and never tested with one.

Questions

Which disinfectant should I use?

The sheet names none. Products differ in what they are effective against, and for notifiable disease your authority publishes an approved list with specified dilutions. Use the label and the official list, not a website.

Is a visitor log required?

Under many assurance schemes, yes, and during a disease outbreak it can become a legal requirement. It is cheap to keep and expensive not to have.
