Get a dripping tap or a dead kettle from the housekeeper who found it to the person who can fix it, on paper, with a record of whether the room could still be let in the meantime.

A free printable hotel room status sheet — every room on one page for one day: departures, arrivals, who is cleaning it and when it was cleaned and checked.
One page. Choose your paper size — both versions are laid out identically, so neither one gets shrunk to fit.
Print it and write on it
Fill it in type and save
The fillable versions have real form fields — open them in any PDF reader, type into them and save. Printing help.
See at a glance which rooms are ready and which are not, without walking the corridor or ringing housekeeping, and have a record of when each room went back to reception.
Head housekeepers and reception staff in small and mid-sized hotels, guest houses and hostels that run the day on paper rather than a property system.
One page, top to bottom:
Printed under the title: Every room on one page for one day — who is leaving, who is arriving, whether the room has been stripped, cleaned and checked, and when it went back to reception as ready.
One day, one page. Write the room numbers down the left, then work across as the day goes on. Use whatever status codes your house already uses; the line at the top is for writing them in so a new starter can read the board. The order rooms are turned in, and how long each is given, is your call — this is where it gets recorded.
Write-on lines: Property / floor · Date · Housekeeper in charge · Rooms to turn · Codes used today (e.g. departure, stayover, out of order)
Table, 14 rows: Room · Status · Out · In · Assigned to · Stripped · Cleaned · Checked by · Ready at · Note
Because that figure is yours. A single with a stayover and a family suite after a departure are not the same job, and different houses staff them differently. The board records when each room was started and when it was ready; what you expect that gap to be is a house standard, not something a printed sheet should set.
Whatever your house already uses. There is a line at the top to write them down, so a new starter or an agency cleaner can read the board without being told.

Stop the things one shift knew from disappearing when they go home — the late arrival, the room out of order, the contractor due at seven — by writing them down and having the next shift sign that they read them.
Run the same changeover every time, and catch damage before the next guest arrives and it becomes untraceable.
Hold your own weekly routine on one page and see what has actually been done. The jobs are yours to write in; the grid is the part worth printing.
Every sheet, binder, game and puzzle on Upkeep Papers is free to download, with no email and no account. Making them is not free: each one takes days of research, design and checking, and the site costs money to run. If something here saved you time, you can buy us a coffee.
