What this sheet is for

Know what a floor actually used in a shift, and stock the trolley from a count. Linen that goes missing shows up in the numbers.

Who it is for

Room attendants, housekeeping supervisors and whoever runs the linen and consumables store in a hotel or guest house.

How to use it

  1. Write in your own par quantities once, from your house trolley list.
  2. Count the trolley at the start of the shift and again at the end.
  3. Note anything issued from the store during the shift.
  4. Work out what was used and what needs putting on for tomorrow.
  5. Sign the trolley off cleaned and locked away, with the rooms serviced.

What is on the sheet

One page, top to bottom:

Printed under the title: One trolley, one shift — what was on it at the start, what was used on the floor, what came back and what needs putting on for tomorrow, so the store room knows what to issue.

Your par, counted against. The par column is what your house says a full trolley carries — write that in once from your own list. Everything else is counted on the day. A trolley that comes back short of the count tells you which rooms took more than usual, which is worth knowing.

Write-on lines: Property · Trolley no. / floor · Date · Shift · Attendant

Stock count — linen, bathroom, consumables and cleaning — in trolley order

Table, 12 rows: Item · Par · On at start · Issued · Used · Back at end · To put on · Notes

Write-on lines: Rooms serviced · Chemicals topped up by · Trolley cleaned · Locked away at · Checked by

Questions

Why is there no standard trolley list printed on the sheet?

Because every house stocks its trolleys differently — the linen sizes, the toiletries, the chemicals. The item column is blank so you write your own list in trolley order, and the par column is your figure for a full trolley.
