What this sheet is for
Record what each group is fed and what feed actually costs across a year, which is usually the largest bill on a smallholding.
Who it is for
Smallholders and small farms of any species.
How to use it
- Write where each ration figure came from — merchant, vet, nutritionist or experience.
- Record the batch or lot number on every delivery; it matters if there is a recall.
- Log purchases as they arrive rather than from receipts at the year end.
- Total the year. The figure is usually larger than people expect.
What is on the sheet
The layout is fixed at a size that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the A4 and Letter files are visually identical and print at full size on either. Rows are set at a height that an adult can actually write a date and a few words into with a pen — most printable tables are built in a word processor and never tested with one.
Questions
How much should I be feeding?
The sheet prints no rations. They depend on species, stage, condition, forage quality and what you are producing, and getting them from a website rather than a merchant or a vet is how animals end up over- or under-fed. Record your decision and its source.
