What this sheet is for

Treat tokens like the cash they are, so a shortfall shows up on the day it happened rather than at the end of the season.

Who it is for

Campsites, touring parks and holiday parks running token-operated laundries, showers or other facilities.

How to use it

  1. Count the tokens out of the store at the start of the day and write the number in.
  2. Log each issue against the pitch or guest and the facility it is for.
  3. Note whether it was paid for at the desk or put on the pitch account.
  4. Count the tin back at the end of the day and write the difference in.
  5. Chase a difference the same day, while anyone still remembers.

What is on the sheet

One page, top to bottom:

Printed under the title: The campsite token record — tokens taken from the store, tokens issued to pitches for the washers, dryers and showers, and the count back at the end of the day.

Counted out, counted back. Tokens behave like cash and go missing the same way, so the sheet counts them in both directions: out of the store, out to guests, and what is left in the tin. What a token costs and what it buys belong on your own price list.

Questions

Why is there no token price on the sheet?

Because what a token costs and what it buys are set by you, and a printed price would be wrong on most sites and out of date on the rest. The sheet counts tokens; your price list carries the money.

Why count both ends of the day?

Because the difference between what went out and what came back is the whole point. Without both counts a missing handful of tokens looks exactly like a busy laundry day.
