The same sheet, on screen. Totals and figures are worked out as you type, rows can be added or removed, and you can print it or download the completed version as a PDF. Everything stays in your browser — your entries are kept in this browser's own storage on this device, nothing is uploaded, and there is no account.
The periodic safety check of one fleet vehicle, written down in full. Prefilled items run from lights and tyres through brakes, steering, body and load area to the safety kit on board, and each failure records the defect, the repair and who signed it off.
Transport and fleet managers, workshop supervisors, owner-drivers and small firms running vans, minibuses, tippers or plant trailers who inspect their own vehicles between garage visits.
The printable is laid out inside a box that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the two files are identical and neither one is scaled. The fillable PDF has real form fields. The workbook uses plain formulas only — SUM, IF, COUNTIF and the like — so it opens in Excel, LibreOffice and Google Sheets without anything breaking, and every calculated cell is grey so you can see which figures it worked out.
Download the A4 or US Letter file to match the paper in your printer, open it in a PDF reader and print at 100% — not "fit to page", which shrinks the writing space. Both files leave a 14 mm margin, which clears the unprintable edge on home printers. To print the online version with your entries in it, use the Print this sheet button, which prints only the sheet and none of the page around it. More on printing.
No. A daily check is a short look before driving. This is the longer periodic inspection, usually done by someone in the workshop or by the fleet manager, and it covers items a driver never sees.
That depends on the vehicle, the work it does, the operator licensing rules where you are and the manufacturer's own schedule. The sheet records dates and odometer readings so you can show whatever interval you run to.
Whatever your workshop means by it: something serviceable now but worth watching or booking in. It does not count as a fail in the summary, so write the detail in the defect column.
It is better not to. The header carries one registration and one odometer reading, which is what makes the record defensible later.
Exactly what was checked before the vehicle left, and by whom.
The condition of every part of the machine when it left the yard.
The vehicle by registration, make, model and the mileage on arrival.
Printable sheets, workbooks and tools on the same subject.
Record the check before driving and the journeys after it on one sheet per day.
See wear as a trend, so you can plan replacement instead of being told at a test that it is already too late.
Keep a service history in your own hands, so it survives changing garages and is there when you sell.
