The same sheet, on screen. Totals and figures are worked out as you type, rows can be added or removed, and you can print it or download the completed version as a PDF. Everything stays in your browser — your entries are kept in this browser's own storage on this device, nothing is uploaded, and there is no account.
The van's history, kept by the owner. Every service, habitation check, repair and piece of warranty work goes on a line with the date, who did it, what it cost and when the next one falls. It is the record a buyer asks for and the one a warranty claim leans on.
Caravan and motorhome owners who want their own copy of the van's history alongside the dealer's stamps, and anyone buying or selling a used van.
The printable is laid out inside a box that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the two files are identical and neither one is scaled. The fillable PDF has real form fields. The workbook uses plain formulas only — SUM, IF, COUNTIF and the like — so it opens in Excel, LibreOffice and Google Sheets without anything breaking, and every calculated cell is grey so you can see which figures it worked out.
Download the A4 or US Letter file to match the paper in your printer, open it in a PDF reader and print at 100% — not "fit to page", which shrinks the writing space. Both files leave a 14 mm margin, which clears the unprintable edge on home printers. To print the online version with your entries in it, use the Print this sheet button, which prints only the sheet and none of the page around it. More on printing.
Follow your manufacturer, your warranty terms and your service engineer; the sheet supplies no interval. Write the next due date they give you, and the days column will count down to it.
In the UK many touring caravans carry a CRiS registration number etched on the windows and recorded against the chassis. Owners elsewhere can use this field for whatever identity number their van carries.
The work column has room for a summary such as 'readings normal' or 'high by nearside window'. Keep the engineer's full report with the sheet, because a buyer or warranty claim will want the detail.
That the next due date has already passed. The soonest due figure in the summary shows the smallest number, so an overdue item shows as a minus figure there too.
Each tyre's position, make, size and date code.
Every tap, pump, tank and heater drained before the frosts.
Planned and actual spending on each cost heading for the year.
Printable sheets, workbooks and tools on the same subject.
Cover the habitation side properly, which is where the expensive problems — damp above all — actually start.
Keep a service history in your own hands, so it survives changing garages and is there when you sell.
