What this sheet is for

Give the scorer the bowling analysis on its own page, so figures can be totalled at the end of a spell without turning the scorebook round.

Who it is for

Club and school scorers, and captains who want the bowling figures kept properly on a Saturday.

How to use it

  1. Fill in the match, venue and scorer at the top.
  2. Write each bowler's name when they start a spell and fill one box per over.
  3. Use your usual notation — dots, runs, W, wd, nb — inside each box.
  4. Total the overs, maidens, runs, wickets and extras at the end of the spell.
  5. Continue a long spell on the next free line under the same name.

What is on the sheet

One page, top to bottom:

Printed under the title: The bowling analysis for both innings of a match — each bowler's overs written ball by ball across the row, and the maidens, runs, wickets and extras totalled at the end of the spell.

One box per over. Write each over in its own box as it is bowled, in whatever notation your scorer uses — dots, runs, W, wd, nb — and total the spell when it ends. A bowler who outlasts the boxes continues on the next free line under the same name.

Questions

How does this fit with the Cricket Scorebook Page?

The scorebook page is the batting side of the innings; this is the bowling side. Used together they give the full innings, and the totals on each should agree.

What if a bowler bowls more overs than there are boxes?

Carry on across a second line with the same name and total both lines together. The number of overs a bowler may bowl is set by your competition's rules, not by the sheet.
