What this sheet is for

Keep one diver's kit and its service history together, with serial numbers. It is ready to show a dive centre or a club, or to back a warranty claim.

Who it is for

Recreational and club divers who own their own regulators, BCD and computer, and dive club equipment officers.

How to use it

  1. Copy the make, model and serial number of each item from the kit and its paperwork.
  2. Write in each cylinder's latest visual inspection and pressure test.
  3. Add a line on page two for every service or test, with the shop and technician.
  4. Copy any readings from the shop's ticket, never work them out yourself.
  5. Note faults noticed between services, so the shop knows what to look at.

Questions

How often does scuba equipment need servicing?

Service intervals are set by each maker and can depend on how much you dive. Write the next due date the shop or the maker gives, and keep the record so a service plan or warranty can be honoured.

Why does the cylinder section say to check local rules?

How often cylinders must be inspected and pressure tested, and who may do it, differs from one country to another. Check the rules where you are and the tester's advice, and copy the dates stamped on the cylinder.
