Greenhouse Growing Log
Turn a greenhouse from a place things happen into a place with a record, so a bad germination or a lost crop can be traced back to the week it went wrong.

A free printable hydroponic log: pH, EC and solution temperature for one reservoir, against your own target ranges, with top-ups, full changes and calibrations.
2 pages. Choose your paper size — both versions are laid out identically, so neither one gets shrunk to fit.

The fillable versions have real form fields — open them in any PDF reader, type into them and save. Printing help.
Spot pH and EC drift in a reservoir before the plants show it, with every reading on one log. Clean-outs and meter calibrations are kept with the readings they affect.
Home and small commercial hydroponic growers running NFT, deep water, drip or ebb and flow systems.
2 pages, in this order:
Printed under the title: One reservoir's solution read at the same time each round: pH, EC and temperature, what was added to it and every full change, so drift shows up in the numbers before it shows in the leaves.
Your ranges, written in. No target pH, EC or temperature is printed here. The right ranges depend on the crop, its stage, the system and the nutrient, so take them from the nutrient maker or the guidance you grow by, write them in the boxes below, and change them as the crop moves on.
Write-on lines: System and type · Reservoir volume · Crop · Nutrient product · Meter make and model · Last calibrated · Your pH range · Your EC range · Your temperature range
Table, 26 rows: Date · Time · pH · EC · Temp · Water · Nutrient · pH adjust · Change · Cal. · Plants
Table, 7 rows: Date · Job · What was done · Product or standard · By
Because they depend on the crop, its stage, the system and the nutrient, and different makers give different figures. Write your own ranges in the boxes at the top and change them as the crop moves on.
Because the reading before a top-up is the one that shows drift. A reading taken just after adding water or nutrient shows the correction, not the trend.
A meter that has drifted gives readings that look fine and are not. Noting each calibration beside the readings shows which figures you can trust.
Turn a greenhouse from a place things happen into a place with a record, so a bad germination or a lost crop can be traced back to the week it went wrong.
Keep track of what is under cover at any moment and how it has been treated, so a crop that sulks can be read against the conditions it actually had.
Keep track of the instruments you rely on and when each was last checked, so you know which numbers you can trust.
Turn a season of odd handfuls and full trugs into one running total per crop, so next year's planting is decided by what the plot produced rather than by memory.
