Keep track of the instruments you rely on and when each was last checked, so you know which numbers you can trust.
Who it is for
Workshops, labs, food businesses, farms, workshops with torque wrenches and gauges, and anyone whose measurements matter to somebody else.
How to use it
- List every instrument you actually rely on, including the cheap ones.
- Write what each is used for — that decides how precise it needs to be.
- Record what it was checked against, not just that it was checked.
- Take overdue instruments out of service rather than trusting them.
- Keep certificates separately; this is the index.

Intervals come from the instrument, not from us. No calibration intervals or tolerances are printed. They come from the instrument's manufacturer, from what you are using it for, and from any standard you work to. An instrument nobody has checked is a confident source of wrong numbers. What must be tested or recorded, how often, by whom and how long the record must be kept differ by country and by the kind of premises. This sheet prints no interval and no criterion, names no scheme and satisfies no regulation on its own.
