What this sheet is for

Have a single page that matches the carrier's paperwork line for line when someone asks where the workshop's waste went.

Who it is for

Garages, tyre bays, fast-fit centres, mobile mechanics and anyone who generates workshop waste that a licensed carrier takes away.

How to use it

  1. Fill in the site and your usual carrier's registration number at the top.
  2. Log each collection with the waste type, quantity and the container it left in.
  3. Copy the carrier's registration and transfer note reference onto the row.
  4. Have the collector initial the row before the vehicle leaves.
  5. Keep the sheet with the transfer notes for as long as the rules where you are say to.

What is on the sheet

One page, top to bottom:

Printed under the title: What went out of the back door and who took it — waste oil, filters, coolant, batteries, tyres — with the collector's details and the transfer note number, one row per collection.

Check the rules where you are. What you may store, for how long, who may carry it away and which paperwork you keep is set by the rules where you are and by your waste carrier's own licence. Record the carrier's registration and the transfer note reference on every line, so the paper trail matches theirs.

Write-on lines: Site / workshop · Year · Usual carrier · Carrier reg. no.

Questions

How long can I store waste oil, and who can take it?

That is set by the rules where you are and by the carrier's own licence, and this sheet does not state either. The record is built so that whatever paperwork your regulator asks for can be traced from it.

Should tyres and oil be on the same sheet?

For most small workshops yes — it is one back door and one paper trail. A tyre bay moving pallets of casings every week may prefer a sheet per waste type.
