What this sheet is for

Track the large seasonal weight and coat changes that are normal in ferrets, so an abnormal change is recognisable.

Who it is for

Ferret owners, working ferret keepers and rescues.

How to use it

  1. Weigh regularly and note the coat stage beside it.
  2. Record vaccinations and treatments given.
  3. Check ears, teeth and nails on a routine and log it.
  4. Note anything the vet asked you to watch.

What is on the sheet

The layout is fixed at a size that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the A4 and Letter files are visually identical and print at full size on either. Rows are set at a height that an adult can actually write a date and a few words into with a pen — most printable tables are built in a word processor and never tested with one.

Questions

Is it normal for a ferret's weight to change so much?

Seasonal weight and coat changes are usual in ferrets and can be substantial, which is exactly why a written record beats an impression — it lets you see whether this year's change matches last year's.

What vaccinations does a ferret need?

That differs by country, and what is licensed and available differs too. Your vet sets the schedule; the sheet records it.
