How to use it

1. Record ring numbers exactly, with the year.
2. Log pairings and young reared against the parents.
3. Record the daily round, including who did it.
4. Check what licensing or registration applies to your species before you acquire or sell.

What is on the sheet

The layout is fixed at a size that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the A4 and Letter files are visually identical and print at full size on either. Rows are set at a height that an adult can actually write a date and a few words into with a pen — most printable tables are built in a word processor and never tested with one.

Questions

Do I need a licence to keep or sell birds?

For some species, yes — including birds bred in captivity — and the rules differ by country and species, covering ringing, registration and paperwork on sale. Check before acquiring, not after.
