The same sheet, on screen. Totals and figures are worked out as you type, rows can be added or removed, and you can print it or download the completed version as a PDF. Everything stays in your browser — your entries are kept in this browser's own storage on this device, nothing is uploaded, and there is no account.

Who this is for

Two teams, every step added up. Enter each member's daily steps and the tracker works out each person's total and daily average, each team's total, the challenge total and how many days are left.

Workplaces, families, clubs and groups of friends running a step challenge between two teams, and whoever has been left in charge of collecting everyone's numbers.

What this helps you track

  • Each member's steps for every day of the challenge week
  • Each member's total and daily average
  • Each team's total and who is ahead
  • The combined total for the whole challenge
  • Days remaining until the end date you set

How to use it

  1. Write the challenge name, its start and end dates and the two team names.
  2. List each team's members in their own table.
  3. Collect everyone's steps each day and enter them under Day 1 to Day 7, with Day 1 as the first day of the week.
  4. Totals, daily averages and the team scores are worked out in the browser and the workbook; on paper, add across and down.
  5. To rank members, sort a team's rows by the total column in the workbook.
  6. For a challenge longer than a week, start a fresh copy for each week and carry the team totals forward in the notes.

Formats

  • Printable PDF (A4 and US Letter)
  • Fillable PDF with form fields
  • Fill in online, saved in your browser
  • Excel / Google Sheets workbook

The printable is laid out inside a box that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the two files are identical and neither one is scaled. The fillable PDF has real form fields. The workbook uses plain formulas only — SUM, IF, COUNTIF and the like — so it opens in Excel, LibreOffice and Google Sheets without anything breaking, and every calculated cell is grey so you can see which figures it worked out.

How to print

Download the A4 or US Letter file to match the paper in your printer, open it in a PDF reader and print at 100% — not "fit to page", which shrinks the writing space. Both files leave a 14 mm margin, which clears the unprintable edge on home printers. To print the online version with your entries in it, use the Print this sheet button, which prints only the sheet and none of the page around it. More on printing.

Questions

Does it set a daily step target?

No. There is no target on the sheet; the challenge is between the teams. If your group agrees a goal, write it in the challenge name or the notes.

Can it handle more than two teams?

The sheet has two team tables so both fit on one page. For more teams, use one copy per pair of teams and compare the team totals, or add rows and label each member's team in the member column.

How is the daily average worked out?

It is the member's total divided by the number of days that have steps entered, so someone halfway through the week is not pulled down by the empty days.

Does it put members or teams in order?

It shows each total, and the team with the larger total is ahead. To list members in order, sort each team table by the total column in the workbook.
