The same sheet, on screen. Totals and figures are worked out as you type, rows can be added or removed, and you can print it or download the completed version as a PDF. Everything stays in your browser — your entries are kept in this browser's own storage on this device, nothing is uploaded, and there is no account.

Who this is for

Every ride, totalled by the week. Log each ride with its distance, time and climbing, and the sheet works out your average speed and a week-to-date distance, with a weekly table for distance, time and elevation.

Commuters, leisure riders and club cyclists who want to see how far they ride each week, indoors and out, without handing their data to an app.

What this helps you track

  • Each ride with its type, distance, time, climbing and weather
  • Average speed for each ride, from your own distance and time
  • A week-to-date distance that builds as the rides go in
  • Weekly distance, time, elevation and ride count, with the change on last week
  • The longest ride and the average weekly distance over the period

How to use it

  1. Write your name, the bike, the period and whether you ride in kilometres or miles.
  2. Number the weeks from 1 and give each ride that week's number, one row per ride.
  3. Pick the ride type, then enter the distance, the time in minutes and the elevation gain from your computer or map.
  4. Speed and the week-to-date distance fill in by themselves in the browser and the workbook; on paper, add each ride to the one above.
  5. At the end of each week, copy its distance, time, climbing and ride count into the weekly totals table.
  6. Read the period totals and the average per week from the summary.

Formats

  • Printable PDF (A4 and US Letter)
  • Fillable PDF with form fields
  • Fill in online, saved in your browser
  • Excel / Google Sheets workbook

The printable is laid out inside a box that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the two files are identical and neither one is scaled. The fillable PDF has real form fields. The workbook uses plain formulas only — SUM, IF, COUNTIF and the like — so it opens in Excel, LibreOffice and Google Sheets without anything breaking, and every calculated cell is grey so you can see which figures it worked out.

How to print

Download the A4 or US Letter file to match the paper in your printer, open it in a PDF reader and print at 100% — not "fit to page", which shrinks the writing space. Both files leave a 14 mm margin, which clears the unprintable edge on home printers. To print the online version with your entries in it, use the Print this sheet button, which prints only the sheet and none of the page around it. More on printing.

Questions

How is average speed worked out?

Distance divided by time in hours, so it reads in kilometres or miles per hour to match your unit. Use moving time if your computer records it, and keep to the same choice all period.

Do turbo sessions count?

Log them like any other ride, with the distance your trainer or app reports and the type set to Turbo. If you would rather keep outdoor totals separate, leave turbo rides out of the weekly table.

What unit is elevation in?

Whatever your computer or map uses, metres or feet. Write it in the notes area the first time and keep to it, so the weekly elevation totals add up like with like.

Can I track more than one bike?

The header takes one bike, so keep one sheet per bike and add the weekly totals together if you want an overall figure. The browser version saves in your own browser, so each copy stays separate.
