The same sheet, on screen. Totals and figures are worked out as you type, rows can be added or removed, and you can print it or download the completed version as a PDF. Everything stays in your browser — your entries are kept in this browser's own storage on this device, nothing is uploaded, and there is no account.

Who this is for

A year of selling online, platform by platform. Each item runs from listing to sale with fees and postage taken off, and each platform's table counts its sales and adds up the money, ready to set against any reporting level you look up.

People who regularly sell clothes, books, games, furniture and household items on resale apps and marketplaces, and anyone who wants to know what their selling brings in over a year.

What this helps you track

  • Each item from the day it was listed to the day it sold
  • The asking price against the price it actually sold for
  • Fees and postage taken off to show what you kept
  • The number of sales and the money taken on each platform this year
  • The year's net cash raised across every platform

How to use it

  1. Write the year, your name and the platforms you sell on; the first table is for your main platform.
  2. Add a line when you list an item, with the date and asking price, and change the asking price if you reduce it.
  3. When it sells, enter the date, the price the buyer paid, the platform and payment fees and any postage you paid.
  4. Net and the sales count are worked out in the browser and the workbook; on paper, take the fees and postage off the price.
  5. Check each platform's totals during the year against any reporting level you have looked up, and keep the sheet with your records.

Formats

  • Printable PDF (A4 and US Letter)
  • Fillable PDF with form fields
  • Fill in online, saved in your browser
  • Excel / Google Sheets workbook

The printable is laid out inside a box that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the two files are identical and neither one is scaled. The fillable PDF has real form fields. The workbook uses plain formulas only — SUM, IF, COUNTIF and the like — so it opens in Excel, LibreOffice and Google Sheets without anything breaking, and every calculated cell is grey so you can see which figures it worked out.

How to print

Download the A4 or US Letter file to match the paper in your printer, open it in a PDF reader and print at 100% — not "fit to page", which shrinks the writing space. Both files leave a 14 mm margin, which clears the unprintable edge on home printers. To print the online version with your entries in it, use the Print this sheet button, which prints only the sheet and none of the page around it. More on printing.

Questions

Do I have to tell the tax office about my sales?

It depends on where you live, what you sell and whether it counts as trading. Many platforms now report sellers' sales to tax authorities, so check your own tax authority's guidance; the sheet does not decide this for you.

Why does each platform have its own table?

Platforms count and report each seller separately, so the number of sales and the money taken are kept per platform. Each table's totals row gives that platform's figures for the year.

What goes in the reporting level box?

Any figure you have looked up that matters to you, such as the number of sales or the amount at which a platform reports a seller. The sheet supplies no level of its own; write the figure and where you found it.

How is this different from the declutter resale tracker?

The declutter tracker follows a one-off clear-out and the money it raised. This tracker is for selling through the year, with sales counted and totalled for each platform separately.

What if an item is returned?

Clear the sale date and price from its line, add any return postage you paid to the postage column, and relist it on a new line when it goes back up.
