A dated line each time the fridge or freezer is emptied and wiped out. It records which appliance, what was done, how much went in the bin and who did it, so the job has a history rather than a vague sense of being overdue.
Households where nobody is sure when it was last done, shared kitchens, and anyone defrosting a freezer who wants a record of what came out of it.
The printable is laid out inside a box that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the two files are identical and neither one is scaled. The fillable PDF has real form fields. The online version keeps what you enter in your own browser and builds the completed PDF on your device.
Download the A4 or US Letter file to match the paper in your printer, open it in a PDF reader and print at 100% — not "fit to page", which shrinks the writing space. Both files leave a 14 mm margin, which clears the unprintable edge on home printers. To print the online version with your entries in it, use the Print this sheet button, which prints only the sheet and none of the page around it. More on printing.
No, deliberately. A temperature log is its own sheet with its own purpose and its own limits, and mixing the two produces a record that serves neither. This log is about cleaning out and throwing away.
The sheet carries no interval. What suits a household of one and a shared house of six are not the same, and your appliance's handbook may say something about defrosting. The log shows when it was last done and lets you judge.
A count of items, or of bags, whichever you will keep doing. The figure is only useful if it is counted the same way each time.
It can be used to record the clean-out, but a workplace with food safety obligations will have its own records to keep, set by the rules where you are and by whoever wrote the policy. Check those before relying on this.

The less frequent jobs, listed so they are not forgotten between cleans.
The short round that keeps a desk usable.
Printable sheets, workbooks and tools on the same subject.
Show that an appliance was checked, twice a day, by someone who wrote down what they saw. A run of readings shows drift long before one reading shows a failure.
Shop from a list rather than a guess, and stop finding the same jar three times.
Index a freezer or a store cupboard so that stock rotates properly and things are found before they are forgotten.
Every sheet, binder, game and puzzle on Upkeep Papers is free to download, with no email and no account. Making them is not free: each one takes days of research, design and checking, and the site costs money to run. If something here saved you time, you can buy us a coffee. It is entirely optional: nothing is locked, and nothing changes if you don’t.
Opens PayPal in a new tab. Any amount, and nothing changes if you would rather not.
