The same sheet, on screen. Totals and figures are worked out as you type, rows can be added or removed, and you can print it or download the completed version as a PDF. Everything stays in your browser — your entries are kept in this browser's own storage on this device, nothing is uploaded, and there is no account.

Who this is for

Everything in one wardrobe, and how often it is worn. Each piece gets a line with its category, price and a tally of wears; the sheet works out cost per wear and flags anything not worn since a date you choose.

Anyone planning a clear-out, building a smaller wardrobe or trying to buy less, and people who want to see what their clothes really cost per wear before the next shopping trip.

What this helps you track

  • Every garment, pair of shoes and accessory one person owns, by category
  • What each piece cost and how many times it has been worn
  • Cost per wear for each piece and for the wardrobe as a whole
  • Pieces not worn since a date you choose
  • What to keep, repair or pass on, and the real gaps worth buying for

How to use it

  1. Write whose wardrobe it is, the date you start and a not-worn-since date, such as the start of last season.
  2. Go through the wardrobe category by category and give each piece a line, with what it cost if you know.
  3. Add a tally mark each time you wear something; in the browser or the workbook, enter the count instead.
  4. Write the date in last worn when you wear a piece. Cost per wear and the not worn flag are worked out in the browser and the workbook; on paper, divide the price by the wears.
  5. At review time, choose a decision for each piece and write real gaps and wants at the foot before you shop.

Formats

  • Printable PDF (A4 and US Letter)
  • Fillable PDF with form fields
  • Fill in online, saved in your browser
  • Excel / Google Sheets workbook

The printable is laid out inside a box that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the two files are identical and neither one is scaled. The fillable PDF has real form fields. The workbook uses plain formulas only — SUM, IF, COUNTIF and the like — so it opens in Excel, LibreOffice and Google Sheets without anything breaking, and every calculated cell is grey so you can see which figures it worked out.

How to print

Download the A4 or US Letter file to match the paper in your printer, open it in a PDF reader and print at 100% — not "fit to page", which shrinks the writing space. Both files leave a 14 mm margin, which clears the unprintable edge on home printers. To print the online version with your entries in it, use the Print this sheet button, which prints only the sheet and none of the page around it. More on printing.

Questions

How is cost per wear worked out?

The price you paid divided by the number of times you have worn the piece. Anything never worn shows its whole price, because that is what it has cost so far with nothing back. Leave the price blank for gifts if you would rather not count them.

What does the not worn column show?

A 1 against any piece last worn before the date in the not worn since box, or never worn at all, and 0 otherwise. The summary adds them up, so you can see how much of the wardrobe is sitting idle.

Do I really have to tally every wear?

Only for as long as it is useful. A season of tallies usually shows what you reach for and what you skip. Keep the sheet and a pen inside the wardrobe door and it takes a few seconds.

How is this different from the seasonal wardrobe rotation checklist?

The rotation checklist is for packing clothes away and bringing them out as the seasons turn. This tracker counts each piece and how often it is worn over months, to show which clothes earn their place.
