Winter Lay-Up and Launch Checklist
Put the autumn lay-up jobs and the spring launch checks on the same page, so what you did in October is in front of you in April.
Trailers and marine · TM-17
A free printable mooring record sheet — the berth agreement, contacts, fee and renewal dates, with a dated log of every check on the lines, chain and swivel.
One page. Choose your paper size — both versions are laid out identically, so neither one gets shrunk to fit.
Print it and write on it
Fill it in type and save
The fillable versions have real form fields — open them in any PDF reader, type into them and save. Printing help.
Keep the berth paperwork and the mooring gear history on one sheet. A renewal is not missed, and a chafed line is caught on a check rather than in a gale.
Boat owners with a marina berth, a swinging mooring, a drying mooring or a winter yard space — anyone paying someone else to keep their boat somewhere.
One page, top to bottom:
Printed under the title: Where the boat is kept, what the berth costs and when it renews, and a dated record of the lines, chain, swivel and fenders that are holding it there.
Your harbour's terms, not ours. Berth fees, what the harbour requires of a mooring and how often the ground tackle has to be lifted and inspected come from the marina, the harbour authority or the mooring contractor — write their figures in the blanks. The sheet holds what you agreed and what you checked, not what it ought to be.
Write-on lines: Vessel · Length overall · Beam · Draught · Insurance renews
Write-on lines: Marina / harbour / mooring owner · Berth or mooring no. · Type · Winter storage — where · Contact & phone · Agreement runs from · To · Notice to give · Fee & what it covers · Paid how often · Last paid — date & invoice no. · Next payment due · Access code / key no. · Harbour rules on the mooring — anodes, chain size, lifting, who may work on it
Table, 6 rows: Date · What was checked · Chafe / wear · Replaced · Inspected by · Next check
That is set by the harbour authority, the mooring contractor or your insurer, and it depends on the ground, the tidal range and what the tackle is made of. The sheet has a Next check column for their figure, not one of its own.
No. It is your copy of what was agreed and what you paid, kept in your own words. The agreement itself, and whatever the harbour requires you to hold, stay as they are.

Keep an inventory of the safety gear aboard with the date each item expires, so the out-of-date ones are found at the dock rather than at sea.
Turn a failure into a claim instead of a bill, by knowing what is still covered before you call someone out.
Know exactly what is on the hull before you buy the next tin. The haul-out lines then show whether the paint you chose actually kept the growth off.
The same subject, with a version you can fill in on screen.
Planned and actual spend under each cost heading.
Each fee, who it is paid to and the period it covers.
