What this sheet is for
Know what has been sold and what is still out there to be spent, so a card presented at the till can be checked against the record of its sale.
Who it is for
Independent shops that sell their own gift cards or paper vouchers, and branches keeping a paper record alongside the till.
How to use it
- Log each card or voucher as it is sold, with its number, value and the till receipt reference.
- When a card is used, log the card number, the amount taken and the balance left.
- Log part-spends as separate lines so the running balance is visible.
- Note replacement cards and goodwill vouchers so they are not counted as sales.

Your scheme sets the terms. Whether a card expires, whether change is given, and how long unspent balances are carried in your accounts is your own scheme's rulebook and the rules where you are. This sheet records the movements; it does not set the terms.

Questions
Do gift cards expire?
That depends on your own scheme and on the rules where you are, and the sheet does not print either. Record the movements here and apply your own terms.
Why keep issue and redemption on the same sheet?
So a card presented at the till can be matched to its sale without a second sheet. When it is full, start a new one and carry over open balances.
