What this sheet is for

Cash up a bar with several tills so that a short drawer is found on the night and has a till and a shift attached to it, instead of vanishing into one bag.

Who it is for

Bar managers, licensees and duty managers in pubs, bars, clubs and hotel bars running more than one till through a session.

How to use it

  1. Make up the floats before service and have whoever takes each drawer sign for it.
  2. After service, count each drawer on its own line against its own till reading.
  3. Write the over or short per drawer, then total it and explain what you can.
  4. Record card and tips beside the cash so the session total reconciles.
  5. Note the floats made up for the next session before the safe is locked.

What is on the sheet

Printed under the title: One session of a bar with more than one till: the float each drawer went out with, what each came back with, card and tips beside it, and the over or short written per drawer rather than lost in the venue total. No float figure is printed.

Questions

How is this different from the Cash Float and Till Count Sheet?

That sheet is one till counted by denomination at open and close. This one is built for a bar with several drawers going out and coming back in one session, with card terminals and tips beside each, so the venue total is built up from drawers rather than counted as a lump.

Why is no float amount printed?

Because the float is your decision and depends on the bar, the night and the change you expect to give. There is a blank per drawer for whatever you issue.
