Window and Blind Measurement Sheet

What this sheet is for

Measure every opening once, properly, and record all three measurements, so quotes and orders come from the same figures.

Who it is for

Anyone ordering blinds, curtains, shutters or replacement windows, and trades measuring up for a quote.

How to use it

1. Measure in millimetres.
2. Measure width at top, middle and bottom, and drop at left, centre and right. Openings are rarely square.
3. Write down which figure you gave the supplier.
4. Note handles, tiles, pipes and anything else that will foul the fitting.

What is on the sheet

The layout is fixed at a size that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the A4 and Letter files are visually identical and print at full size on either. Rows are set at a height that an adult can actually write a date and a few words into with a pen — most printable tables are built in a word processor and never tested with one.

Questions

Should I take the deduction off myself?

No — that is the single most common way blinds arrive too narrow. Every supplier applies their own allowance to the size you give them. Give them your measured size, tell them whether it is a recess or face fit, and let them deduct.
