Marine Battery and Electrical Log
Track battery voltages as a series rather than a single reading, so a bank that is dying is obvious well before it strands you.

A free printable golf cart battery log: watering after each full charge for up to eight batteries, cell by cell hydrometer readings, spreads and equalising charges.
2 pages. Choose your paper size — both versions are laid out identically, so neither one gets shrunk to fit.
Print it and write on it
Fill it in type and save
The fillable versions have real form fields — open them in any PDF reader, type into them and save. Printing help.
Spot the weak battery, or the cell that keeps reading low, before it drags the pack down.
Golf clubs, cart fleet mechanics, caravan parks, estates and private owners with a flooded lead-acid battery pack.
2 pages, in this order:
Printed under the title: Every battery in a cart's pack topped up after a full charge, then cell by cell hydrometer readings, so a weak battery or a neglected cell shows up before the cart stops halfway round.
The battery maker's figures, not ours. No specific gravity figures, voltages or water levels are printed: they differ between battery makers and models. Copy the full-charge reading, the temperature correction and the spread that calls for an equalising charge from the maker's literature. Electrolyte is acid, so wear eye protection and gloves.
Write-on lines: Cart or fleet no. · Battery make & model · Batteries in pack · Pack voltage · Pack fitted · Full-charge reading (maker) · Temperature correction (maker) · Spread that calls for equalising
Also printed: Battery topped up — tick each one

Because the full-charge reading and the temperature correction differ between battery makers and electrolyte strengths. Copy them from your battery maker's literature so every reading is judged against the right figure.
Not the watering or hydrometer parts: sealed and lithium packs cannot be topped up or read cell by cell with a hydrometer. It is for flooded lead-acid batteries with removable vent caps.

Show a returning customer what their battery tested at last time. Keep a record of the advice given whether or not they took it.
Know in spring where every battery, drain plug and machine actually is, and whether it started, instead of finding out the hard way on the first fine day.
Give every rider the same check before each ride, a column a day. A soft tyre or a sticking throttle is then found in the yard rather than on a slope.
Every sheet, binder, game and puzzle on Upkeep Papers is free to download, with no email and no account. Making them is not free: each one takes days of research, design and checking, and the site costs money to run. If something here saved you time, you can buy us a coffee. It is entirely optional: nothing is locked, and nothing changes if you don’t.
