What this sheet is for

Record the tank drain that protects against internal corrosion, and keep the servicing history for a machine that holds pressure.

Who it is for

Workshops, garages, home mechanics and anyone with a receiver-tank compressor.

How to use it

  1. Drain the tank after every session and log it — condensate corrodes the tank from the inside where you cannot see it.
  2. Record pump oil type and quantity once.
  3. Check the safety valve and belt condition at each service.
  4. Note any inspection or test requirement for your tank.

What is on the sheet

The layout is fixed at a size that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the A4 and Letter files are visually identical and print at full size on either. Rows are set at a height that an adult can actually write a date and a few words into with a pen — most printable tables are built in a word processor and never tested with one.

Questions

Why does draining the tank matter so much?

Compressing air condenses water into the bottom of the receiver. Left there, it corrodes the tank from the inside — invisible from outside, and a tank under pressure is not something you want thinning.
