Utility Change-Over Record
Close the old accounts and open the new ones with the readings and balances written down on the day, so a change-over dispute has a sheet of paper behind it.
Moving and buying · MB-08
A free printable meter reading log for electricity, gas and water, with a usage column so a bill can be checked against your own recorded numbers.
One page. Choose your paper size — both versions are laid out identically, so neither one gets shrunk to fit.
Print it and write on it
Fill it in type and save
The fillable versions have real form fields — open them in any PDF reader, type into them and save. Printing help.
Build a running record of readings and the usage between them, so a bill is something you can check rather than something you have to accept.
Homeowners, tenants and landlords — anyone who has ever had an estimated bill and had nothing to argue with.
The layout is fixed at a size that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the A4 and Letter files are visually identical and print at full size on either. Rows are set at a height that an adult can actually write a date and a few words into with a pen — most printable tables are built in a word processor and never tested with one.
It is printed on the meter itself, usually on the face beside or beneath the display. It is the number a supplier uses to identify the meter if a reading is queried, and it is worth writing down once.
Not always directly. Suppliers convert meter units into billed units in their own way, and that calculation differs by country, fuel and meter type. The value of this sheet is the trend and the readings themselves, not the arithmetic on the bill.

Capture the things you need to know about a new property while you are still paying attention, rather than at two in the morning during a leak.
Turn a vague intention to look after the house into a page you can tick off, so the jobs that only need doing once or twice a year actually get done.
We are building this library out steadily. Leave an address and we will send the new sheets as they are finished — nothing else, and no more than one email a week.
Sign-up is not live yet — we have not connected an email provider, so this form is switched off rather than quietly collecting addresses.
