What this sheet is for
Know what the account balance really is, including the payments that have not reached the bank yet.
Who it is for
Anyone running a personal or small business account who wants their own figure rather than the app's.
How to use it
- Enter every payment and deposit as you make it.
- Carry the balance down the page.
- Tick the cleared column when a line appears on the statement.
- Anything still unticked is the difference between your figure and the bank's.
What is on the sheet
The layout is fixed at a size that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the A4 and Letter files are visually identical and print at full size on either. Rows are set at a height that an adult can actually write a date and a few words into with a pen — most printable tables are built in a word processor and never tested with one.
Questions
Why bother, when the bank has an app?
Because the app shows what has cleared, not what you have committed. The gap between those two is where most unexpected overdrafts live.
