What this sheet is for
Record journeys and the pre-loading checks, which is both good practice and, for longer or commercial journeys, often a requirement.
Who it is for
Anyone travelling horses to competitions, sales, yards or the vet.
How to use it
- Complete the loading checks before the ramp goes up, not after.
- Record departure and arrival times for each leg.
- Note water offered at stops.
- Record the horse's condition on arrival, honestly.
What is on the sheet
The layout is fixed at a size that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the A4 and Letter files are visually identical and print at full size on either. Rows are set at a height that an adult can actually write a date and a few words into with a pen — most printable tables are built in a word processor and never tested with one.
Questions
What are the rules on transporting horses?
They differ by country and can bite sooner than people expect — journey time limits, documentation, transporter authorisation and whether the journey counts as commercial can all apply to trips people think of as private. Check before you load.
