A free printable knitting project sheet — pattern, yarn and dye lot, a swatch table for the needles that met tension, and a log of rows worked and alterations.
One page. Choose your paper size — both versions are laid out identically, so neither one gets shrunk to fit.

Fill it in type and save
The fillable versions have real form fields — open them in any PDF reader, type into them and save. Printing help.
Get a garment that fits the person it was knitted for, and be able to knit the same thing again, because the needles and the alterations are on paper.
Knitters working from a pattern, from garments and jumpers down to socks, hats and baby knits.
One page, top to bottom:
Printed under the title: One knitted piece recorded properly — pattern, yarn and dye lot, the needles that met tension, and the alterations that made it fit the person it is for.
Swatched, not assumed. Needle sizes and tension figures are not printed here, because the pair that gets you to a pattern's tension depends on the yarn, the stitch and your own hands. Swatch it, write down what worked, and the next jumper in that yarn starts with the answer already on the page.
Write-on lines: Project name · Pattern and designer · Knitted for · Started · Yarn and weight · Colourway and dye lot · Balls used · Size being made
Table, 3 rows: Needles tried · Stitch worked · Measured over · Stitches counted · Rows counted · Use these
Table, 6 rows: Date · Piece or section · Rows worked · Needles · Yarn or colour · Alteration made
Because the needles that reach a pattern's tension depend on the yarn, the stitch pattern and how tightly you knit. The swatch table exists to find that out for you, and the figure you write in is worth more than any we could print.
Yes — that is the point of it. One sheet stays with one project, goes in the bag with the yarn, and ends up in a folder with the pattern when the piece is finished.
Finish a project the size it was meant to be, and be able to repeat it, because the hook that met tension and every change you made are written down rather than remembered.
Get the ball band's detail onto paper before the band is lost, especially the dye lot, which exists nowhere else once it is gone.
Hold one quilt's plan, fabric and progress on a single page, so the piecing maths and the yardage are not on the back of an envelope that gets thrown out.
Record the things a finished object cannot tell you later: which dye lot, which hook you really used, and how much was left over.
