What this sheet is for
Make a batch traceable, so a good one can be repeated and a bad one can be traced back to what went into it.
Who it is for
Candle makers, soapers, bath and body makers, and anyone selling what they make.
How to use it
- Number every batch and write the number on the products.
- Record the supplier lot number for every component. This is the part that matters.
- Record quantities and percentages as you actually used them.
- Note temperatures and cure conditions.
- Test and write down how it performed.
What is on the sheet
The layout is fixed at a size that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the A4 and Letter files are visually identical and print at full size on either. Rows are set at a height that an adult can actually write a date and a few words into with a pen — most printable tables are built in a word processor and never tested with one.
Questions
Why record lot numbers?
Because if a supplier recalls a component, or a batch behaves oddly, the lot number is the only thing that tells you which of your products are affected.
Are there recipes or fragrance loads on this sheet?
No. Those come from your supplier's technical data and from the safety rules that apply where you sell. A printable is the wrong place to get them, and we are not going to pretend otherwise.
