Spreadsheet formulas included

The fillable versions have real form fields — open them in any PDF reader, type into them and save. Printing help.

The same sheet, on screen. Totals and figures are worked out as you type, rows can be added or removed, and you can print it or download the completed version as a PDF. Everything stays in your browser — your entries are kept in this browser's own storage on this device, nothing is uploaded, and there is no account.

Who this is for

A list of what is still under warranty and for how long. Each item gets its purchase date, the date its cover ends, a tick to say the receipt is kept and where, and the browser and spreadsheet versions count the days left on every line.

Anyone with appliances, electronics, tools or furniture bought in the last few years, and small businesses keeping track of equipment guarantees.

What this helps you track

  • Which items are still covered today, and which ran out last month
  • How many days are left on each guarantee, worked out from the end date
  • Whether the receipt or proof of purchase exists, and where it is
  • Who to contact — retailer or manufacturer — when something fails

How to use it

  1. Add each item when you buy it, while the receipt is still in the bag.
  2. Write the warranty end date from the guarantee card, the retailer's terms or the extended cover you bought.
  3. Tick the receipt column and write where the receipt is — a folder, an email, a photo.
  4. In the browser and spreadsheet the days-left column and the summary update themselves; on paper, glance down the end dates.
  5. When something fails, check the line before you ring anyone: cover, receipt, contact.
  6. Cross out items you have disposed of, or delete the row online.

Formats

  • Printable PDF (A4 and US Letter)
  • Fillable PDF with form fields
  • Fill in online, saved in your browser
  • Excel / Google Sheets workbook

The printable is laid out inside a box that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the two files are identical and neither one is scaled. The fillable PDF has real form fields. The workbook uses plain formulas only — SUM, IF, COUNTIF and the like — so it opens in Excel, LibreOffice and Google Sheets without anything breaking, and every calculated cell is grey so you can see which figures it worked out.

How to print

Download the A4 or US Letter file to match the paper in your printer, open it in a PDF reader and print at 100% — not "fit to page", which shrinks the writing space. Both files leave a 14 mm margin, which clears the unprintable edge on home printers. To print the online version with your entries in it, use the Print this sheet button, which prints only the sheet and none of the page around it. More on printing.

Questions

How long do warranties usually last?

It depends on the product, the retailer, the country and whether you bought extra cover, so the tracker never assumes a length. Write the end date the paperwork gives you, or work it out from the length it states.

What if I cannot find the receipt?

Leave the tick blank and note where you have looked. A bank statement, an order confirmation email or the retailer's account history may do instead — write in the notes what you have.

Is this the same as the appliance register?

No. The appliance register is about the appliance — model, serial, servicing. This tracker is only about cover: when it ends and whether you can prove the purchase. Many households keep both.

Does a negative days-left figure mean anything is wrong?

Only that the warranty has ended. The count is measured from today, so it keeps going past zero rather than stopping.
