One page. The A4 and US Letter files are laid out identically, so neither is shrunk to fit.

The fillable versions have real form fields — open them in any PDF reader, type into them and save. Printing help.

The same sheet, on screen. Totals and figures are worked out as you type, rows can be added or removed, and you can print it or download the completed version as a PDF. Everything stays in your browser — your entries are kept in this browser's own storage on this device, nothing is uploaded, and there is no account.

Who this is for

Every policy the household pays for, on one page. Each line records the type, the insurer, the policy number, the start and renewal dates and the premium; the browser and spreadsheet versions count down the days to each renewal and total the premiums.

Households with a spread of home, car, life, travel and pet policies, and small landlords or sole traders who add business cover on top.

What this helps you track

  • Which policy renews next, and how many days away that is
  • What the household pays for insurance in total, across every policy
  • The insurer and policy number to quote when something happens
  • Which policies have quietly renewed without anyone comparing the price

How to use it

  1. List every policy you can find — check bank statements for the ones you have forgotten.
  2. Enter the insurer, the policy number, the start date and the renewal date from the documents.
  3. Write the premium as you pay it, and note in the notes column whether that is a year or a month.
  4. In the browser or spreadsheet the days-to-renewal column and the totals fill themselves in; on paper, work them out at the end.
  5. Before each renewal date, use the line to compare the renewal quote with the market.
  6. Update the line when a policy is renewed or replaced, and keep the old sheet with the old paperwork.

Formats

  • Printable PDF (A4 and US Letter)
  • Fillable PDF with form fields
  • Fill in online, saved in your browser
  • Excel / Google Sheets workbook

The printable is laid out inside a box that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the two files are identical and neither one is scaled. The fillable PDF has real form fields. The workbook uses plain formulas only — SUM, IF, COUNTIF and the like — so it opens in Excel, LibreOffice and Google Sheets without anything breaking, and every calculated cell is grey so you can see which figures it worked out.

How to print

Download the A4 or US Letter file to match the paper in your printer, open it in a PDF reader and print at 100% — not "fit to page", which shrinks the writing space. Both files leave a 14 mm margin, which clears the unprintable edge on home printers. To print the online version with your entries in it, use the Print this sheet button, which prints only the sheet and none of the page around it. More on printing.

Questions

Should I record the premium per year or per month?

Either, as long as the whole sheet uses the same basis so the total means something. The note column is there to say which; the tracker does not assume.

Why does it count days to renewal rather than tell me when to act?

Because how far ahead you need to shop around depends on you and your insurer. The count gives you the number; you decide what number is close.

What about excess, cover limits and what is excluded?

They matter, but they vary too much to fit a column. Put the figure you most need to remember in the notes, and keep the policy schedule with your documents register.

Can it handle a policy that has already renewed?

Yes. A negative days figure simply means the renewal date has passed. Enter the new renewal date and the count restarts.
