What this sheet is for

Record a drill in a way that captures what went badly, which is the only part that makes the next one better.

Who it is for

Halls, offices, shops, care settings, schools, clubs, HMOs and any premises with an evacuation plan.

How to use it

  1. Block a route and see what happens. A drill where everything works teaches little.
  2. Time the evacuation and complete the roll call properly.
  3. Write down what went wrong, including anything awkward.
  4. Give each change an owner and a date.
  5. Set the next drill date before you file the record.

What is on the sheet

The layout is fixed at a size that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the A4 and Letter files are visually identical and print at full size on either. Rows are set at a height that an adult can actually write a date and a few words into with a pen — most printable tables are built in a word processor and never tested with one.
