A free printable fishing catch log — date, water, swim or mark, method, bait, species, your own measurement, kept or returned, and the conditions that went with it.
One page. Choose your paper size — both versions are laid out identically, so neither one gets shrunk to fit.
Print it and write on it
Fill it in type and save
The fillable versions have real form fields — open them in any PDF reader, type into them and save. Printing help.
See which swim, method and bait actually produce for you over a season, rather than remembering the good days and forgetting the blanks.
Coarse, game and sea anglers keeping their own record, and club members who have to report catches.
One page, top to bottom:
Printed under the title: What you caught and how — water, swim or mark, method, bait, species and your own measurement, with the conditions that went with it.
Your measurement, their rules. Sizes, seasons, limits and whether a fish may be kept at all are set by whoever controls the water and by the rules where you are — check those, and write your own measurement here. Nothing on this sheet tells you what may be taken.
Write-on lines: Angler · Water or venue · Permit or ticket no. · Season
Table, 13 rows: Date · Swim or mark · Time · Method · Bait or lure · Species · Size or weight · Kept / returned · Water and weather
Because they are set by whoever controls the water and by the rules where you are, and they change. Check those before you fish and write your own measurement in the column; the sheet records what you caught, not what you are allowed to keep.
Because the blanks are half the pattern. A swim that produces once in eight visits looks excellent in a log that only records fish.
Keep an orderly account of each day on the ground, so what was taken and who was out can be shown to the permission holder without relying on memory.
Put the trip on paper before you launch and leave a copy behind, so somebody knows where you went and when to worry.
Keep your own record of dives made, in a layout that holds the detail an instructor or operator will ask about, including weight and conditions.
Keep an inventory of the safety gear aboard with the date each item expires, so the out-of-date ones are found at the dock rather than at sea.
