What this sheet is for

Keep the right guard going on with the right head, and the line size and blade bore written down so the wrong one is never bought again.

Who it is for

Gardeners, grounds staff, smallholders and anyone with a petrol or battery strimmer or brushcutter.

How to use it

  1. Fill the specification block once — mix ratio, plug, line diameter, head and blade details, and which guard belongs to which.
  2. Log each service with the date and hours or season.
  3. Record every head or blade change and the guard fitted with it.
  4. Run the before-use checks; a head that keeps turning at idle is a clutch problem.

Questions

Why record the guard with each head change?

Because a line head and a metal blade usually need different guards, and the wrong one either throws debris or leaves the blade exposed. Writing down which guard went on with which head makes the swap something you check, not something you remember.

Where is the fuel mix ratio?

In the blank at the top, for you to fill in from your own handbook or the oil you use. It is the one figure people get wrong, which is why it is not printed for you to copy.
