Show a month of trading on one page with the counting and the checking done by two different people, so a query has a line to point at.
Charity shop managers, deputy managers and volunteer tills teams in a shop run for a church, hospice or local charity.
One page, top to bottom:
Printed under the title: A month of trading on one page: what the till says, what was actually in the drawer, what went through the card machine, and the two people who agreed the figures.
Counted by one, checked by another. Two sets of initials on every line is the point of this sheet. How your shop handles cash, who may count it and where it is banked are set by your charity, not by this page — write the figures in and follow your own procedure.
Write-on lines: Shop / branch · Month · Manager
Table, 13 rows: Date · Opening float · Cash counted · Card total · Gift Aid sales · Day total · Banked · Counted · Checked
Because it is not ours to set, and a printed target on a shop's own record would be meaningless. The value of the sheet is the pattern it shows over a month in your shop, against whatever your charity expects.
That is for your charity's own cash handling procedure to say, not this sheet. The two initials columns are here because most charities ask for a second pair of eyes; if yours does, the sheet records that it happened.

Put one collection on one page, counted and signed by two people, so the figure that reaches the accounts can be traced back to the table it was counted on.
Count a drawer properly and record the variance, so a pattern of small differences becomes visible instead of being quietly absorbed.
Cash up consistently and record the difference every day, which is how a problem gets noticed in a week rather than in an audit.
