What the house has agreed, written down once. Guests, noise, shared items, bills, cleaning and parking each get a line for what was decided and a date to look at it again, and every housemate signs beside their contact details.
Students and anyone sharing a house or flat who want the everyday arrangements agreed at the start rather than argued about later.
The printable is laid out inside a box that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the two files are identical and neither one is scaled. The fillable PDF has real form fields. The online version keeps what you enter in your own browser and builds the completed PDF on your device.
Download the A4 or US Letter file to match the paper in your printer, open it in a PDF reader and print at 100% — not "fit to page", which shrinks the writing space. Both files leave a 14 mm margin, which clears the unprintable edge on home printers. To print the online version with your entries in it, use the Print this sheet button, which prints only the sheet and none of the page around it. More on printing.
No. It records what housemates have agreed between themselves about day-to-day living. It does not change your tenancy, and anything about rent, deposits or your landlord is governed by the tenancy and the rules where you are.
Talk about it at the next review, or sooner, and change the wording if it was not clear enough. The sheet works best as a reference everyone can point to, rather than a list of penalties.
Because arrangements that suit the first term often do not suit exam season or a new housemate. A date on each line means the house looks at it again rather than letting it quietly lapse.
Cross them out, add the new housemate to the contacts table and ask them to read the agreements and sign. It is a good moment to review every line.

Whose turn it is to do the shared shop each week.
Every shared purchase, who paid and how many it was split between.
Every item in each room, and in the shared kitchen, bathroom and lounge.
Printable sheets, workbooks and tools on the same subject.
Split the jobs between everyone in the house before the month starts, so the question of whose turn it is has already been answered in writing.
Put the numbers somebody needs in one place, so a house-sitter, a babysitter, a visiting relative or a tenant is not searching for them at the worst moment.

Making them is not free: each one takes days of research, design and checking, and the site costs money to run. If something here saved you time, you can buy us a coffee.
