The same sheet, on screen. Totals and figures are worked out as you type, rows can be added or removed, and you can print it or download the completed version as a PDF. Everything stays in your browser — your entries are kept in this browser's own storage on this device, nothing is uploaded, and there is no account.

Who this is for

Every relief you claim, with the evidence behind it. One table follows this tax year's claims from spending and receipts to the refund; the other follows earlier years, counting down to the last date to claim you looked up.

Households claiming tax credits or reliefs for things such as health costs, childcare, rent, pension contributions, donations or tuition, and anyone catching up on reliefs missed in earlier years.

What this helps you track

  • Each credit or relief claimed, in the name your tax office uses
  • The qualifying spending and where the receipts are kept
  • When and how each claim was made, with its reference
  • The relief or refund shown and the date it arrived
  • Earlier years still open, with the days left to claim

How to use it

  1. Write your name, the tax year the first table covers and the date you last updated the record.
  2. Add a line for each relief you claim this year: its name, the qualifying spending, whether the receipts are kept and where.
  3. When you claim, write the date, how you claimed and the reference, then the refund shown and the date it arrives.
  4. Use the second table for earlier years, with the last date to claim that you have looked up on your tax authority's own pages.
  5. Totals, days left and the summary are worked out in the browser and the workbook; on paper, add down each column.

Formats

  • Printable PDF (A4 and US Letter)
  • Fillable PDF with form fields
  • Fill in online, saved in your browser
  • Excel / Google Sheets workbook

The printable is laid out inside a box that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the two files are identical and neither one is scaled. The fillable PDF has real form fields. The workbook uses plain formulas only — SUM, IF, COUNTIF and the like — so it opens in Excel, LibreOffice and Google Sheets without anything breaking, and every calculated cell is grey so you can see which figures it worked out.

How to print

Download the A4 or US Letter file to match the paper in your printer, open it in a PDF reader and print at 100% — not "fit to page", which shrinks the writing space. Both files leave a 14 mm margin, which clears the unprintable edge on home printers. To print the online version with your entries in it, use the Print this sheet button, which prints only the sheet and none of the page around it. More on printing.

Questions

Does the record list which reliefs I can claim?

No. Reliefs differ by country and change from year to year, so the sheet names none. Your tax authority lists what is available; write each one you claim in its own words.

How far back can I claim?

Each tax authority sets its own limit, and some reliefs have their own. Look it up, write the last date to claim against each earlier year, and the days-left column counts down to it.

Why record where the receipts are kept?

A tax office can ask to see the evidence for a claim, sometimes years later. Knowing which folder or email holds the receipts makes that a short job rather than a search.

How is this different from the tax return paperwork checklist?

The checklist gathers every document for a return before you file. This record follows the reliefs themselves: what was claimed, what came back, and what is still open from earlier years.
