The same sheet, on screen. Totals and figures are worked out as you type, rows can be added or removed, and you can print it or download the completed version as a PDF. Everything stays in your browser — your entries are kept in this browser's own storage on this device, nothing is uploaded, and there is no account.

Who this is for

Everyone who sent something, and whether they have been thanked. Each line records who gave a donation, flowers or a card, how to reach them, what was passed on to the chosen charity and when a thank-you went out.

Families after a funeral or memorial who want to acknowledge everyone who sent something and account for donations collected in their relative's memory.

What this helps you track

  • Who sent donations, flowers and cards
  • Addresses and contacts for thank-you notes
  • Donations received and the amount passed on to the charity
  • Money still to be passed on
  • Thank-you notes still to write

How to use it

  1. Write the name of the person being remembered, the chosen charity or cause and the date of the service.
  2. Add a line for every donation, bunch of flowers, card or other gesture, with who it came from and how to contact them.
  3. Enter the amount of any donation handed to the family, and tick passed once it has gone to the charity, with the date.
  4. Tick thanked as each note is sent; the browser and workbook count the ones still to do and total the donations.
  5. Keep the record with the funeral papers, and use the totals if the charity asks what was collected.

Formats

  • Printable PDF (A4 and US Letter)
  • Fillable PDF with form fields
  • Fill in online, saved in your browser
  • Excel / Google Sheets workbook

The printable is laid out inside a box that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the two files are identical and neither one is scaled. The fillable PDF has real form fields. The workbook uses plain formulas only — SUM, IF, COUNTIF and the like — so it opens in Excel, LibreOffice and Google Sheets without anything breaking, and every calculated cell is grey so you can see which figures it worked out.

How to print

Download the A4 or US Letter file to match the paper in your printer, open it in a PDF reader and print at 100% — not "fit to page", which shrinks the writing space. Both files leave a 14 mm margin, which clears the unprintable edge on home printers. To print the online version with your entries in it, use the Print this sheet button, which prints only the sheet and none of the page around it. More on printing.

Questions

Do donations made directly to the charity go here?

You can record them so the giver can be thanked, but leave the amount blank if the money never came through you. The totals then show only what the family is holding and passing on.

How do I know who donated through the charity or a funeral director?

Some charities and funeral directors can send the family a list of donors. Ask them what they can share, and add each name here so it sits alongside the cards and flowers.

Does the sheet say when donations must be passed on?

No. It sets no deadlines. It shows what has been passed on and what is still held, so you can settle with the charity when it suits you and the charity.

Why keep addresses on the same sheet?

Because the thank-you notes are written from this list. Having the name, address and what they sent together makes each note personal and means nobody is missed.
