Fill it in online

The same sheet, on screen. Totals and figures are worked out as you type, rows can be added or removed, and you can print it or download the completed version as a PDF. Everything stays in your browser — your entries are kept in this browser's own storage on this device, nothing is uploaded, and there is no account.

Who this is for

Property and valuables, valued by you. The first table lists land, buildings and vehicles with how they are owned and where the title papers are; the second lists items of value with who valued them and when. Both total up.

Home owners, people with a second property, land or valuable collections, and executors who need to know what exists and where its papers are.

What this helps you track

  • Each property or vehicle, how it is owned and where its papers are kept
  • Any mortgage or finance against it and what is still owed
  • Jewellery, art, collections and other items of value and where they are kept
  • Who valued each item and on what date
  • Subtotals for each table and the combined total

How to use it

  1. Write your name, the date and who prepared the schedule at the top.
  2. List each property, plot of land or vehicle with its ownership type, any lender, the balance owed and where the deeds or logbook are kept.
  3. Enter your own estimated value for each; the sheet supplies none. The equity column is worked out for you.
  4. List valuable items with a short description, where they are kept, and who valued them and when.
  5. The totals are worked out in the browser and the workbook; on paper, add each value column and the two subtotals together.
  6. Update the values when you have something revalued, and keep photographs of valuables with the schedule.

Formats

  • Printable PDF (A4 and US Letter)
  • Fillable PDF with form fields
  • Fill in online, saved in your browser
  • Excel / Google Sheets workbook

The printable is laid out inside a box that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the two files are identical and neither one is scaled. The fillable PDF has real form fields. The workbook uses plain formulas only — SUM, IF, COUNTIF and the like — so it opens in Excel, LibreOffice and Google Sheets without anything breaking, and every calculated cell is grey so you can see which figures it worked out.

How to print

Download the A4 or US Letter file to match the paper in your printer, open it in a PDF reader and print at 100% — not "fit to page", which shrinks the writing space. Both files leave a 14 mm margin, which clears the unprintable edge on home printers. To print the online version with your entries in it, use the Print this sheet button, which prints only the sheet and none of the page around it. More on printing.

Questions

Where should the values come from?

From you: a recent valuation, an insurance schedule or your own estimate. The sheet supplies none. The valuation date and valued by columns show how current and how firm each figure is.

What does ownership type mean here?

How the property is held, for example in your sole name, jointly with another person, or in shares. The terms and their effect differ by country, so use the wording on your own title papers and check the rules where you are.

How is the equity column worked out?

It is your estimated value minus the amount still owed to the lender that you enter. The combined total uses the full estimated values; the equity total is shown in the totals row of the property table.

Is this the same as a home contents inventory?

No. A contents inventory lists everything in a home for insurance. This schedule lists only the property and higher-value items an executor needs to know about, with ownership and where the papers are.
