Pool Equipment Service Log

A free printable pool equipment service log — pump, filter, heater and chlorinator identified once, then a running record of servicing, parts and repairs.

First page of the Pool Equipment Service Log — Track the equipment as machinery with its own service history, rather than mixing pump seals and heater faults in with water chemistry.

What this sheet is for

Track the equipment as machinery with its own service history, rather than mixing pump seals and heater faults in with water chemistry.

Who it is for

Pool owners and anyone maintaining a pool's plant room or equipment pad.

How to use it

  1. Identify each item once from its own rating plate — make, model and serial.
  2. Log every service, repair and part fitted against the item it belongs to.
  3. Record the cost so you know what the plant actually costs to keep running.
  4. Keep the identification block up to date whenever something is replaced.

What is on the sheet

One page, top to bottom:

Printed under the title: The pump, filter, heater and chlorinator as machines — identified once, then a running log of servicing, parts and repairs, separate from the water chemistry.

Equipment, not chemistry. This sheet tracks the equipment, not the water. Chemistry readings and backwashing belong on the Pool Chemical and Maintenance Log; this is where the pump gets a new seal or the heater gets serviced.

Questions

Why keep this apart from the chemical log?

Because a pump seal, a heater element and a chlorinator cell are servicing problems, not water-quality ones, and a chemistry log is the wrong place to bury them. This sheet is the equipment's own history.
