First Aid Kit Contents and Expiry Check

What this sheet is for

Check a kit against the contents list that applies to it and leave a dated record of what was missing, what had expired and what was put back.

Who it is for

Households, drivers, clubs, halls, site huts and workplaces — anyone responsible for a kit that is opened rarely and needed suddenly.

How to use it

1. Write down which required contents list you are working to, and where it came from.
2. Fill in the required quantity column yourself, one line per item on that list.
3. Count what is present, and write the earliest expiry date you can find on each item.
4. Restock, note what you added and the date, then sign the foot of the sheet and set the next check date.

What is on the sheet

The layout is fixed at a size that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the A4 and Letter files are visually identical and print at full size on either. Rows are set at a height that an adult can actually write a date and a few words into with a pen — most printable tables are built in a word processor and never tested with one.

Questions

Why is there no contents list printed on the sheet?

Because there is no single answer. What a kit is expected to contain differs by country and by whether it is a household, vehicle or workplace kit, and the lists are revised from time to time. A list printed on a sheet in 2026 would still be sitting in a cupboard being wrong years later, so the required column is left for you to fill in from the list that actually applies to your kit.

How often should a kit be checked?

That is set locally too, and it also depends on how heavily the kit is used. The sheet has a next check due box rather than a printed interval — decide the interval from the guidance that applies where you are, write it down, and keep the run of completed sheets as the record that it happened.
