Tyre Change and Tread Log
Free tyre log — tread depth at all four corners with the lowest picked out, pressure checks, and every tyre fitted with cost and reason. PDF, Excel, browser.
2 pages. The A4 and US Letter files are laid out identically, so neither is shrunk to fit.

The same sheet, on screen. Totals and figures are worked out as you type, rows can be added or removed, and you can print it or download the completed version as a PDF. Everything stays in your browser — your entries are kept in this browser's own storage on this device, nothing is uploaded, and there is no account.
Who this is for
Two records on one sheet: the checks and the changes. The top table is a tread and pressure check across all four wheels, with the lowest reading picked out; the second is a line for every tyre fitted, moved or repaired, with the cost.
Drivers who check their own tyres, owners of a car that eats a particular corner, and anyone who wants to know how long a set of tyres actually lasted before buying the next.
What this helps you track
- Tread depth on each wheel over time, and which one is wearing fastest
- Whether pressures were checked and set on the same visit
- Every tyre fitted, with the make, the position, the reason and the price
- What a set of tyres cost and how far it went, from the odometer readings
- Uneven wear caught early, which is usually an alignment or pressure problem
How to use it
- Write the vehicle, the tyre size from the sidewall, and the pressures from the vehicle's own plate or handbook at the top.
- Each time you check, add a line: the date, the odometer and the tread depth on all four wheels, using a tread gauge.
- Tick the pressure box when you have checked and set them on the same visit.
- The browser and spreadsheet versions pick out the lowest of the four readings on each line and across the log.
- Whenever a tyre is fitted, moved, repaired or replaced, add it to the second table with the cost.
- Compare the odometer between one set and the next to see what a set of tyres really gave you.

- Excel / Google Sheets workbook
The printable is laid out inside a box that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the two files are identical and neither one is scaled. The fillable PDF has real form fields. The workbook uses plain formulas only — SUM, IF, COUNTIF and the like — so it opens in Excel, LibreOffice and Google Sheets without anything breaking, and every calculated cell is grey so you can see which figures it worked out.
How to print
Download the A4 or US Letter file to match the paper in your printer, open it in a PDF reader and print at 100% — not "fit to page", which shrinks the writing space. Both files leave a 14 mm margin, which clears the unprintable edge on home printers. To print the online version with your entries in it, use the Print this sheet button, which prints only the sheet and none of the page around it. More on printing.
Questions
What tread depth is the minimum?
The legal minimum differs by country and the sensible minimum is a matter of judgement and conditions, so the sheet does not print a figure. Check the rules where you are and write your own line in the sand in the notes.
What pressure should the tyres be at?
The vehicle's own plate or handbook gives the figures for that car and load, which is why there is a field for them at the top rather than a number of ours.
Do I need a tread depth gauge?
For readings worth comparing over time, yes — they are inexpensive. Without one you can still record the pressure checks and use the tread columns for a note such as 'worn on the inside edge'.
Where do wheel alignment and balancing go?
In the second table, with a reason of alignment or rotation and the cost. They affect how the tyres wear, so they belong on the same record.
