The same sheet, on screen. Totals and figures are worked out as you type, rows can be added or removed, and you can print it or download the completed version as a PDF. Everything stays in your browser — your entries are kept in this browser's own storage on this device, nothing is uploaded, and there is no account.

Who this is for

A dated record of what each co-owner has put in. Purchase costs and later payments are split by owner, with totals and each owner's share of everything paid.

Couples, friends and family members buying a home together, and co-owners who want a clear record to bring to their solicitor or to a review between themselves.

What this helps you track

  • What each owner paid towards the deposit, fees, taxes and survey
  • Mortgage payments, improvements and big repairs paid since
  • Which later payments all owners have agreed to count
  • Each owner's total and share of everything paid
  • Dates and evidence for every payment

How to use it

  1. Write the property, each owner's name and how you hold it, as your solicitor advised.
  2. Enter each purchase cost on page one with the date, what it was and how much each owner paid, from bank statements.
  3. Record later payments on page two as they happen, and tick agreed once every owner accepts that the payment counts.
  4. Totals and each owner's share are worked out in the browser and the workbook; on paper, add each column and divide by the grand total.
  5. Review it together from time to time, write the date at the top, and give a copy to your solicitor if you are asked.

Formats

  • Printable PDF (A4 and US Letter)
  • Fillable PDF with form fields
  • Fill in online, saved in your browser
  • Excel / Google Sheets workbook

The printable is laid out inside a box that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the two files are identical and neither one is scaled. The fillable PDF has real form fields. The workbook uses plain formulas only — SUM, IF, COUNTIF and the like — so it opens in Excel, LibreOffice and Google Sheets without anything breaking, and every calculated cell is grey so you can see which figures it worked out.

How to print

Download the A4 or US Letter file to match the paper in your printer, open it in a PDF reader and print at 100% — not "fit to page", which shrinks the writing space. Both files leave a 14 mm margin, which clears the unprintable edge on home printers. To print the online version with your entries in it, use the Print this sheet button, which prints only the sheet and none of the page around it. More on printing.

Questions

Does this sheet decide who owns what?

No. Shares depend on how you hold the property and any written agreement your solicitor draws up, and the rules differ between countries. This sheet records who paid what, which is useful evidence for that conversation.

What should count as a contribution?

That is for the owners to agree, ideally in writing with legal advice. The agreed tick lets you record which later payments you have all accepted, so the figures you rely on are not in dispute.

How is this different from the source of deposit funds record?

That record shows a lender or solicitor where the deposit money came from. This one splits every payment by owner, before and after the purchase, and works out each owner's share.

Is there room for a third owner?

Yes. Owner C has its own name and column. Leave it blank if there are only two of you; the shares still add up correctly.
