The same sheet, on screen. Totals and figures are worked out as you type, rows can be added or removed, and you can print it or download the completed version as a PDF. Everything stays in your browser — your entries are kept in this browser's own storage on this device, nothing is uploaded, and there is no account.

Who this is for

Four removals quotes on one page. Each firm has a row for its terms and a row for its price lines, so a cheap quote that leaves out packing, insurance or dismantling shows up before it is chosen.

Anyone collecting quotes from removals firms who wants to compare like with like rather than the headline figure on each quote.

What this helps you track

  • Which firm quoted what, and on what kind of survey
  • Deposit, cancellation terms and insurance cover for each
  • Whether each firm can do your date
  • The price lines each quote includes and the ones it leaves out
  • The total per company once every extra is added

How to use it

  1. Write the move date, both addresses and the estimated volume you gave every firm, so each quoted for the same job.
  2. Give each firm a row in the terms table: its name, survey type, deposit, cancellation terms, insurance cover and whether it can do your date.
  3. Copy each firm's price lines into its row of the price table; where a quote leaves something out, get a price for it or note it as not offered.
  4. The total per company is added up in the browser and the workbook; on paper, add across each row.
  5. Write the firm you chose and the reason in the decision box, and keep the sheet with the booking confirmation.

Formats

  • Printable PDF (A4 and US Letter)
  • Fillable PDF with form fields
  • Fill in online, saved in your browser
  • Excel / Google Sheets workbook

The printable is laid out inside a box that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the two files are identical and neither one is scaled. The fillable PDF has real form fields. The workbook uses plain formulas only — SUM, IF, COUNTIF and the like — so it opens in Excel, LibreOffice and Google Sheets without anything breaking, and every calculated cell is grey so you can see which figures it worked out.

How to print

Download the A4 or US Letter file to match the paper in your printer, open it in a PDF reader and print at 100% — not "fit to page", which shrinks the writing space. Both files leave a 14 mm margin, which clears the unprintable edge on home printers. To print the online version with your entries in it, use the Print this sheet button, which prints only the sheet and none of the page around it. More on printing.

Questions

Why compare line by line rather than on the total?

Because quotes are built differently. One firm includes packing materials and insurance, another lists them as extras. Putting every line in the same column shows what each total actually buys.

What does survey type mean?

How the firm assessed the job: a visit in person, a video call, or a list you supplied. A quote from a visit is usually based on more information, which is worth knowing when two prices differ.

What if a firm does not offer a service?

Leave that price blank and say so in its terms row. If you need that service, find what it would cost elsewhere and add it to that firm's extras, so the totals compare the same job.

Does the sheet say what a fair price is?

No. It carries no prices, rates or typical costs. It only lays your own quotes side by side so the differences are visible.
