The same sheet, on screen. Totals and figures are worked out as you type, rows can be added or removed, and you can print it or download the completed version as a PDF. Everything stays in your browser — your entries are kept in this browser's own storage on this device, nothing is uploaded, and there is no account.

Who this is for

Know what is in the loft before you buy. One table holds each child's current sizes; the other lists the clothes stored for the next child by box, size and season, with how many of each and who they are meant for.

Families with more than one child who keep clothes to pass down, and parents who store outgrown clothes in boxes or bags and lose track of what is there.

What this helps you track

  • Each child's current size in tops, trousers, shoes, coat and uniform
  • Which box or bag holds which sizes and seasons
  • How many of each item are stored, and in what condition
  • Which clothes are meant for which child
  • What can come out of storage now, before anything new is bought

How to use it

  1. Write the family name, where the clothes are stored and the date at the top.
  2. Measure or check each child and fill in their current sizes, with the date, in the first table.
  3. Number every box or bag, then list what goes into it: size, season, item type, how many and their condition.
  4. Tick ready now against anything that fits a child at the moment, so it comes out before you shop.
  5. In the workbook, sort or filter the stored table by box or size to see what each holds; the totals row adds up the items.
  6. Update the sheet each time a box is packed or opened, and write the new date at the top.

Formats

  • Printable PDF (A4 and US Letter)
  • Fillable PDF with form fields
  • Fill in online, saved in your browser
  • Excel / Google Sheets workbook

The printable is laid out inside a box that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the two files are identical and neither one is scaled. The fillable PDF has real form fields. The workbook uses plain formulas only — SUM, IF, COUNTIF and the like — so it opens in Excel, LibreOffice and Google Sheets without anything breaking, and every calculated cell is grey so you can see which figures it worked out.

How to print

Download the A4 or US Letter file to match the paper in your printer, open it in a PDF reader and print at 100% — not "fit to page", which shrinks the writing space. Both files leave a 14 mm margin, which clears the unprintable edge on home printers. To print the online version with your entries in it, use the Print this sheet button, which prints only the sheet and none of the page around it. More on printing.

Questions

Why keep sizes and stored clothes on one sheet?

Because the question is always the same: does the next child already have something in this size? Having both on one page means you can answer it before you go shopping.

How do I see the total per size or per box?

In the workbook or browser version, sort or filter the stored table by the box or size column and the items are grouped together. On paper, give each box its own block of lines.

What counts as a size?

Whatever is on the label: an age range, a height, a chest measurement or a shoe size. Size labels differ between shops and countries, so write them as printed rather than converting them.

Can I use it for clothes to sell or give away?

Yes. Write give away or sell in the for which child column, so those boxes are not opened by mistake when you are looking for something to pass down.
