The same sheet, on screen. Totals and figures are worked out as you type, rows can be added or removed, and you can print it or download the completed version as a PDF. Everything stays in your browser — your entries are kept in this browser's own storage on this device, nothing is uploaded, and there is no account.

Who this is for

Measurements taken at home, kept in one place. Each entry records the date, the child's age, height, weight, shoe size and clothing size, and shows how much has changed since the previous time and how many months apart the two were.

Parents buying shoes and clothes for growing children, and anyone who wants a home record to take to an appointment rather than guessing when the last measurement was.

What this helps you track

  • Height and weight on each date you measure
  • Shoe and clothing size at the time
  • How much the child has grown since the last entry
  • How many months passed between measurements
  • Who measured, and anything that affects the reading

How to use it

  1. Write the child's name, date of birth and the units you measure in at the top.
  2. Measure at home in the same way each time, such as without shoes and at the same time of day.
  3. Add a row with the date, height, weight and current shoe and clothing size.
  4. Note who measured and anything unusual, such as a new pair of shoes or a cast.
  5. The age, the changes and the months between entries are worked out in the browser and the workbook.
  6. Take the printout or workbook along to appointments if you are asked about growth.

Formats

  • Printable PDF (A4 and US Letter)
  • Fillable PDF with form fields
  • Fill in online, saved in your browser
  • Excel / Google Sheets workbook

The printable is laid out inside a box that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the two files are identical and neither one is scaled. The fillable PDF has real form fields. The workbook uses plain formulas only — SUM, IF, COUNTIF and the like — so it opens in Excel, LibreOffice and Google Sheets without anything breaking, and every calculated cell is grey so you can see which figures it worked out.

How to print

Download the A4 or US Letter file to match the paper in your printer, open it in a PDF reader and print at 100% — not "fit to page", which shrinks the writing space. Both files leave a 14 mm margin, which clears the unprintable edge on home printers. To print the online version with your entries in it, use the Print this sheet button, which prints only the sheet and none of the page around it. More on printing.

Questions

Does this show whether my child's growth is normal?

No. It is a home record only, with no charts, percentiles or expected figures. If you are concerned about growth, a health professional can compare the readings with the charts they use.

Which units should I use?

Whichever your tape and scales show. Write them in the units field so everyone measuring uses the same ones; the change columns only make sense if every row is in the same units.

How is the age worked out?

From the date of birth in the header and the date of each measurement, shown in years to two decimal places. The months column compares each row's age with the row above.

Why keep shoe and clothing sizes here?

Because they are what you need in the shop. Sizes differ between brands, so the note column is a good place to say which brand or fitting the size refers to.
